Principal's Message

Dear BPS Families, 

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! As we step into this journey together, I am filled with anticipation for all the wonderful experiences that await our kindergarten, first, and second graders. This year's theme is "Live in Curiosity," and we are dedicated to fostering an environment where curiosity can thrive. We believe that curiosity is the spark that ignites a love for learning, driving our students to ask questions and make new discoveries. Our dedicated teachers and staff are prepared to welcome, engage, and inspire your children. 

As a staff we will approach our school goals with a mindset of curiosity. We will share our successes, learn from our challenges and collaborate and seek feedback in order to gain new insights and solutions. As we start this new school year, I am confident that by embracing curiosity, we will not only enhance our own teaching experiences but also positively impact our relationships and our student data. 

At the primary level, there is often tension between rigor and developmentally appropriate practices. Both can be done well together and it is my goal to guide the creation of classrooms that reflect each child’s learning capacity rather than their age. In the early years of education, learning how to learn is as important as academic content and skills, and sets our youngest learners up for long-term success. 

We understand the important role you play in your child's education, and we are committed to building a strong partnership that cultivates academic excellence and strong character.. Your support and involvement are vital as we work together to nurture inquisitive minds and help each student reach their full potential.
