Principal's Message

Dear BPS Families,

Welcome to a new school year! As we step into this season together—surrounded by young learners with wide eyes, open hearts, and a readiness to grow and discover —I want to begin with a story. It’s a story many of you already carry in your hearts, and one that continues to shape the soul of our school community.

Ozzie Goldman lived a life that left an imprint on every heart he touched. Though his time with us was far too short, the way he lived speaks volumes—more than many of us could hope to express in a lifetime. Ozzie lived with a deep-rooted faith that brought joy and confidence, with a boundless curiosity that lit up every room, and with a courageous heart that stood strong even in the face of the unthinkable. His smile lifted the heaviest of hearts. His humor healed. He asked the big questions, welcomed every adventure, and made others feel deeply seen and loved.

As we begin this new chapter, I want to invite each of us—staff members, students, families—to take up a quiet, powerful challenge:

Live Like Ozzie. Let’s move through this school year with

  • Faith – in one another, and in the good we can do.
  • Curiosity – always seeking, always learning, always growing.
  • Courage – to stand strong together.
  • Encouragement – remembering the power of a kind word or a smile.
  • Humor – using laughter to connect, to heal, and to lift each other.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s safety, wellbeing and education. Here’s to a year filled with purpose and unity. Let’s make it one to remember - for Ozzie, for our children, and for each other.

With gratitude,

Jan Alderton - Principal
