Bayfield School District Families,
Due to the recent community surge in COVID-19 cases and out of abundance of caution and safety for our students, staff, and families, we will be closing schools at the end of today for the remainder of this week, January 19-21, 2022.
We will continue to monitor cases in our community as we determine next best steps. During this closure, we will perform deep cleaning in all of our facilities and on our transportation fleet. This decision does not come lightly; therefore, we have determined this is the best course of action moving forward in an effort to decrease the rate of COVID-19 transmission in our community.
At this time, we encourage students to complete any assignments and be in contact with their teachers. We will not be providing virtual learning this week; instead, we encourage you to use this time to ensure that you are up-to-date with all school assignments and projects.
Please note that this cancellation includes all activities, athletic events, and meetings. This closure includes today’s basketball games and community calendar feedback session for today and tomorrow, January 18-19. The BSD Calendar Committee will meet and provide rescheduled dates for the feedback sessions soon.
AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
We have decided to cancel after school activities for the remainder of this week. We are making this decision in hopes of decreasing the rate of COVID-19 transmission in our district and to safeguard our neighboring schools and communities. Activities, training, and games will tentatively resume on Monday, January 24.
