Ms. Baird's Class

Hi! My name is Ms. Baird! I am a first-grade teacher her at Bayfield Primary School. I have been teaching first grade for the last 4 years and it has been a blast. I have lived in Bayfield my whole life. I attended Bayfield from kindergarten until I graduated in 2005. I graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.  I have taught 2nd grade in New Mexico, kindergarten and first grade here in my hometown.

I was raised on my family’s cattle ranch south of Bayfield. In the summer, we run our cattle on summer pasture in the San Juan Mountains. I spend most of my time on horseback in the beautiful country that we live in. In the fall, we spend several weeks gathering them and bringing them back down to the home ranch for the winter. I have a little blue heeler named Mattie that travels to the mountain with and I am sure would love to come to school if I would let her. I also enjoy reading, snowshoeing, and paddle boarding when I have the time.
